Installing a walk-in bath in your bathroom opens up a world of possibilities, making it easier to bathe independently once again. Beyond being easy to access, a walk-in bath offers several features that enhance the overall bathing experience, improving safety, ease of use, and comfort. The benefits of walk-in baths are truly extensive.

We’ve put together some of the most common features found in our walk-in baths to help you better understand how they can make bathing easier and more accessible for you.

    Features in Our Walk-in Baths

From comfortable seating to practical considerations such as drainage and water control, each walk-in bath is thoughtfully designed with the user in mind. These features bring more independence and peace of mind, not to mention comfort, to your daily bathing routine.

    Integrated Powered Seat

For those with limited mobility, getting in and out of the bath can be one of the most challenging aspects of bathing, often requiring assistance. An integrated powered seat is an excellent way to regain independence. Simply walk into the bath, sit on the seat, and lower yourself to the desired height using the remote control. This can be done either before or after filling the bath. Our Lugano and Moritz walk-in baths both include this feature.

    Easy Access Door

One of the primary reasons people choose a walk-in bath is the ease of getting in and out. An easy-access door, fitted with a grab-friendly locking handle system, makes entering and exiting the bath much simpler. The low threshold eliminates the need to step over the side of the bath, just take a small step in. Some models, such as our Hudson bath, also feature an in-swinging door, ideal for smaller bathrooms.

    Lever Taps

Every detail matters when designing an accessible walk-in bath, including the taps. We equip many of our baths with lever taps, which are designed for easy grip and effortless operation, making it simple to turn the water on and off when needed.

    Drainage Options

As walk-in baths need to be emptied while the user is still inside, quick and efficient drainage is essential. Several options are available to meet this need:

    • Double Drain – A double drain system halves the time it takes to empty the bath. Our Ohio model features this system.
    • Vortex Drain – Many of our baths, such as the Lugano, feature a vortex quick-drain system that empties up to 14% faster than standard drainage.
    • Pop-up Drain – A pop-up drain allows easy operation without bending over the bath. These can often be operated with your foot for added convenience.

    Grab Rails

Grab rails can be installed on the bathroom wall next to your bath to help you lower yourself in or pull yourself out safely. They’re also highly useful if you have a shower above your bath, providing valuable support while standing.

    Sensory Pack

Some of our walk-in baths, including the Moritz model, can be fitted with a sensory pack to bring an extra element of luxury to your bath. This pack combines an air spa system, LED lighting and 12 chrome jets – bringing the luxury of a spa, plus all the chromotherapy and hydrotherapy benefits of a hot bath, to your bedroom.
